IVAS Certification in Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine (CVCHM)

• This 160 hour course enables those seeking thorough, foundational training in the field of Chinese Herbal medicine to gain skills and knowledge in the principles of VCHM. It is both practical and comprehensive and includes materia medica, classic formula study, dispensary, herb drug interactions and herbal therapeutics with an emphasis on integrative approaches, biomedical understandings of formula and case-based learning. We only use classic Chinese herbal formulas so you can obtain them virtually anywhere in the world.

• The course consists of 8 Modules of 20 hours each and generally takes between 6 and 12 months to complete. There will be lecture notes, video lectures, forum discussion, and reading of texts as well as assessments. You will be given 10 months to complete this self-paced course.

• At the conclusion of this course you will have enhanced your clinical skills and will be capable of prescribing appropriate Chinese herbal medicines safely and effectively. You may choose to continue your Herbal Medicine education by taking the IVAS Advanced Certification in Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine Course.

IVAS Advanced Certification in Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine (ACVCHM) 

• This 500 hour course provides a more in-depth training to provide you with advanced expertise in applying Chinese herbal medicine to most clinical cases, not just common disorders. You will also have an in-depth understanding of Chinese herbal medicine at an advanced level.

• The course consists of 8 Modules of 60 to 65 hours hours each (2 to 3 months per module) and generally takes between 15 and 21 months to complete. You will be given 21 months to complete this self-paced course.

• At the conclusion of this course you will have advanced clinical skills and will be capable of tackling intransigent cases that have limited therapeutic options in conventional veterinary medicine.

• On completion you may articulate into the degree program, the Graduate Diploma Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine with full recognition of prior learning and one final module to complete (if practice experience is current).
